change is never easy. we fight to hold on. we fight to let go.
if you had to dig deep within your psyche, your soul, your entire being, what would you say makes you the happiest? is it family? friends? love? work? has change ever obstructed your road to happiness?
as i approach another birthday, i find myself questioning the very questions i propose to you. the thing is, one does not need to deconstruct happiness in order to be happy. i have always been an incredibly critical thinker which is why i don’t necessarily believe in the term ‘everything happens for a reason’ without probing deeper. i do feel that everything happens for a reason and that reason is for you to figure out why. if you do not search any deeper than the statement itself then you are not questioning the framework in which the everything took place.no matter what set of circumstances you find yourself in, always find time to question why.
“the more capable you are of critically thinking about the world, the more of a tortured soul you become”
not tortured in the sense of sorrow or sadness but tortured as in consistently placing your actions/thoughts/emotions/feelings under a retrospective lens then taking the painful steps towards learning from them. the world becomes a different place when you examine things from the outside looking in— change is embraced rather than feared.
